What is inflammation?

Inflammation is the body’s natural response to illness or injury. It is a necessary function of the body but when it becomes chronic it wreaks havoc on our internal systems and can create chronic pain and illness. Lyme disease is known to create increased inflammation in the body that can become chronic over time leading to debilitation symptoms, but there is a way to combat this sneaky bacteria and reduce the inflammation it can cause.

how is lyme linked?

Lyme disease is an inflammatory disease. It creates inflammation in joints, organ systems, the brain and anywhere this ancient bacteria can find a place to bury down deep. When you treat it, this also causes inflammation as you kill off the bacteria thus creating a loop of pain that is difficult to manage. Lyme symptoms can be debilitating and keep you from living your life. It saps you of energy but also joy, as you chase symptoms and try to manage pain.
